As the private sector still has the option to sponsor defined benefit or defined contribution pension plans, FRS Capital Management will help determine if a Defined Benefit Pension Plan makes sense based on the plan objectives, ownership structure, and how much your company is willing and able to contribute.    

We will put the plan together and manage it properly; meaning we will ensure your organization is comfortable with its level of financial commitment to the plan and make necessary changes if that commitment becomes too burdensome.  

Important things to consider:
  • Defined benefit plans place the risk/reward of the plan investment performance on the employer, while defined contribution plans place it with the employee.
  • Defined benefit plans define the benefit that a participant will receive at normal retirement age with the funding coming in part from investment gains.  
  • Defined contribution plans guarantee a contribution amount to the participants account, and the ultimate value of the account and retirement income are impacted by investment results.
